Kimberly Lynn (Thomas) Springer, 52, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital. Born on February 3, 1962 in Fort Wayne, she was a graduate of Homestead High School. After graduation, she earned a License in Cosmetology and was a hairdresser for many years. Kim, along with her husband began their own business, Doormaster, where she was the Office Manager for the past 16 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and NASCAR and was also a member of Amvets Post 33. Kim had her own special gift of making people feel loved. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Kenneth Springer of Fort Wayne; her only son, Cody Springer of Fort Wayne; two loving mothers, MaryEllen (Leon) Dolby and Evelyn Thomas, both of Fort Wayne; her sisters, Pastor Linda (Cleve Shields) Dolby of West Lafayette, Debra (Robert) Broeking of Fredericksburg, VA, Tam Thomas of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Lisa (David) Moor of Indianapolis, IN; father-in-law, Garold Springer of Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends that she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her father, James Thomas; mother-in-law, Doris Springer; grandfather, William Thomas; grandmothers, Genevieve Fritz and Josephine Thomas; cousins, Jay Baxter and Chad Unverzagt; and dear friend, Jeff McClain.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00pm at Klaehn, Fahl, and Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Rd, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior; Pastor Donald Sandmann officiating. Calling will also be on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Preferred memorials may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana, 6316 Mutual Dr., Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
