Joyce Emma Larimore

Joyce Emma (Dent) Larimore, 96 of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away March 19, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born August 2, 1926, in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of Thomas and Gypsy J. Dent. Joyce graduated from South Side High School.
She loved her life as wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, puzzles, all kinds of games and spending all of her summers at Lake George, where she and her husband was founding members of the Inland Cat Sailing Association. Joyce was very active in the Fort Wayne Community as a volunteer. She worked with the Red Cross for 30 years and for 12 years with Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. Joyce also served as a board member and worked with disabled children through the YWCA. She was very active with the League of Women Voters, and also with her church, Good Shepherd United Methodist, where she served in many capacities since its inception in 1966.
Surviving are her children, Kristen (Tom) Stone, James (Mary) Larimore, Patrice Larimore; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Robert Larimore, brothers Robert, Richard, Ernest, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at 2pm Saturday, April 22, 2023, with calling one hour prior at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church 4700 Vance Ave. Fort Wayne, IN. 46815. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Red Cross. 1212 California Rd.
