John Powell Zieg

With great sorrow we announce the passing of John Powell Zieg, age 73, native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024. John was a real estate agent and broker for 48 years. He was a respected member of his profession and known for his charisma, charm, and contagious smile. He was a proud Indiana University graduate, where he played hockey and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a devoted family man, who loved his children and grandchildren above all else. He was a beloved significant other to Jun Winstead, and a devoted father to Jessica, Jada, and Jordan. He was a cherished and loyal friend to many. In his free time, John enjoyed playing and watching sports, coaching from the sidelines, spending time with family, and enjoying the outdoors. John Zieg is survived by Jun Winstead, 3 children, (Jessica, Jada, Jordan); 5 grandchildren, (Taegan, Ava, Letti, Cade, Zieg); and a brother (Frank), as well as a niece, (McKenna); two nephews, (Dustin, Chandler), cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2-4 & 5-7pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home - Lakeside Park 1140 Lake Ave. (46805). He will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and colleagues.
