Obituary of Joan Guhn
Joan Guhn, 90, Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Joan was born in Ravenna, Nebraska on June 16, 1934, a daughter of the late William and Frieda (Bohn) Terry. She retired from GTE in 1992 after 20 years of service. Joan was a devoted member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church for over 20 years and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Meadowbrook. She had a passion for doing puzzles, word searches and sewing blankets for her family. Joan spent her time volunteering at numerous church activities and making sure that everybody was taken care of especially her family. She is survived by her children, Kurt Guhn, Karen (Joseph) Loop, and Janice (James) Ewald; grandchildren, Tara (Alistair) Dowson-Park, Aaron Guhn, Nicole (Brenton) Ceaglske, Crystal (David) Tun, Jamie Loop, Adam Loop, Jeremy (Kara) Loop; Sarah (John) Mosser, Amanda (Sean) Bratten, and Brandon Ewald; Step grandchildren, Monique Jones- Upshaw and Cassandra (Thomas) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kristen (Madeline), Shawn, Malcom, Gareth, Olivia, Rylee, Arya, Ilah, Kayla, Alanna, Taylor, Jaykob, Jared, Jaxen, Kacee, Izabella, Kenzee, Jozanna, Megan, Gracie, Sawyer, Brooklynn and Knox; great-great-grandchild, Quill; and siblings, Darrell Terry and Carolyn Heil. Joan was also preceded in passing by her husband, Darrold Guhn; her infant son; and daughter-in-law, Sara Guhn. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2024 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809. Burial to follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Contributions in Joan's memory may be made to Stillwater Hospice or Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
