Obituary of James Michael Freck
We bid farewell to our father, James Michael Freck, who departed from this world on August 15, 2024, at the age of 81. A pillar of strength and a beacon of love, his absence leaves a void in our hearts. To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825, on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow the service at Highland Park Memorial Cemetery. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed. He was born on January 12, 1943, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late, Eloise and Darwin Freck. James married Carol (Stahlman) Freck on February 24, 1967, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Ball State University and University of St. Francis. He was the owner of Total Realty, and was a middle school teacher at Huntertown High School. James was also a soccer referee with the Association. James was a member of the Fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha at Ball State University and founder of youth soccer in Huntertown. James was also on the athletic board at University of St. Francis. James enjoyed going to Komets hockey games and University of St. Francis athletic events. He especially enjoyed supporting his grandkids at their sporting events. He was truly a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; daughters, Wendy (Brent) Scott and Amiee (Greg) Schaefer both of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Preonda (Stephanie) Reese and Braelyn Scott; grandsons, Jay Scott, Brenton Scott, Bryson Scott and Johnathon Schaefer; great-granddaughter, Zayde Reese; brother, Dan (Pat) Freck; sister, Shirley Gaunt of GA; step-siblings, Barb (Danny) Dawson, Becky (Tom) Freck and John Raub; sister-in-law, Shirley Freck; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his step-mother, Fran Freck; sister, Mary Jane Cardona; brothers, Richard Freck, Dave Freck, Steve Freck and Phil Freck; step-sister, Belinda Sloffer. Visitation will be held at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Preferred memorials may be made out to University of St. Francis Athletics.
