Obituary of Jackie Schieferstein
Jackie Schieferstein, 89, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born March 11, 1933, in Markle, IN. Jackie's family moved to Fort Wayne when she was 5 years old. She attended Adams School and Central High School where she graduated in 1952. Jackie married Don Schieferstein at her church, Parkview Church of Christ. Later she joined Zion, her husband’s church. Jackie said she especially liked the people of Zion because they were so friendly and supportive. Jackie has a son, Scot Alan, who is married to Tina. They are the parents of three, Jean-Luc, Jules Miles (Casey), and Angelique. Jackie’s daughter is Connie Jo who is married to Rick Meyer. They have two step-children, Michelle and Sara, and have four step-grandchildren. Jackie had occasionally worked in drug stores. She and Don got into the antique business and spent many years traveling to antique shows to sell their wares. She was busy those days volunteering at the community center in Fort Wayne, calling bingo for seniors. Jackie and her daughter enjoyed going together to play bingo. Jackie liked to cook and bake. She was very involved with her high school class reunion committee. She put her culinary skills to good use by cooking, as well as decorating, for the committee get-togethers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2312 S. Hanna Street Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also take place from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at D.O. MComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN.
