IN THE CARE OF
Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Highland Park
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Irene Barbara Fuze on May 16, 2020. Irene was known as a caring, devout mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Born in Gary, Indiana on July 15, 1941, Irene attended Bishop Noll in Hammond, Indiana. She continued her education and became a pediatric nurse at Saint Joe Hospital. She met her devoted husband, Michael, of 55 years in South Bend and married at Saint Mary of the Lake Church in Gary. She was the beloved mother of Jeffrey, Kevin, and Melissa; the proud grandmother of Abigail, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Monica, Morgan, Andrew, Emma, and Jackson; and the great-grandmother to James, Eva, and Margot. Irene lived a full life as a wonderful spouse, mother, nurse, and business owner. She was passionate about doing for others. She enjoyed spending quality time with all of her children and grandchildren. Irene loved family most of all and instilled strong values in all of her children. She embodied the saying, “Where charity and love are, God is there.”
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
