Ellen A. Fleming, 88, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born May 21, 1922 in Ft Wayne. She retired in 1999 after 28 years at the Allen County Welfare Department as a social worker. She was a former president of Junior League, a member of Saturday Club, PSI OTE, and served as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Northwestern University. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (Steve) Shriner, of Ft Wayne; sons, Dave (Paulette) Fleming; of Coldwater, MI and Tom (Marti) Fleming, of Bloomington; grandchildren, Roddick (Katherine) Fleming, Josh (Mindy) Fleming, Brock (Amber) Fleming, Carrie Fleming, Zach (Becky) Fleming, Kate (James) Halaris, Wil Fleming, Jenn (Josh) Donahue, and Dan Shriner; 9 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Manske and Jane (Irwin) Deister, both of Ft Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fleming. Memorial Service is 2:30pm Saturday, October 30, 2010 at First Prebyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne St. with calling from 1:30-2:30pm Saturday at the church. Arrangements by Klaehn, Fahl & Melton, Wayne St Chapel, 420 W.
