Earl Clayton Coons III, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1955 in Sea Bright, New Jersey. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed on the ship USS Chicago in San Diego, CA, where he met his wife. Earl was a bass fisherman. Fishing was his favorite hobby, and he enjoyed fishing with his very best buddy of over 20 years, Ken Nunn, who passed away before Earl did. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock, his favorites being Jimi Hendrix and Kiss. Earl was a gifted artist and loved to draw and paint. He had a crazy sense of humor. Sometimes, you couldn’t tell if he was just making things up just to make you laugh (which was most of the time) or if he was telling you the truth. He is survived by his mother, Ellie; wife, Marti; son, Jake; daughter-in-law, Alicia; granddaughter, Ashly; brothers, Larry, Eddie, and Jerry; and cousin, Tom. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Clayton Coons II. Memorial Service is 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State Street, Grabill IN (46741), with visitation from noon until the start of the service. Directions from Fort Wayne are as follows: Take 69N to the Dupont Road Exit (East), then a right on Grabill Road (at stop sign). Upon entering the west parking lot, use entrance #1 and go to the chapel. For online condolences, please visit www.advantagemungovan.com.
