Donna J. Fahlsing

Donna J. Fahlsing, age 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 16 at Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne nursing home. She was born on June 30, 1946 in Wolf Lake, Indiana to the late Frederick and Bertha Rockey. Following graduation from Elmhurst High School in 1964, Donna went to work for Lerch's Drugstore where she met the love of her life, Carl "Gene" Fahlsing. They wed the following year and from this union two children were born. She spent her career in various clerical positions concluding with Byron Health Center. Donna loved shopping, travel crafting, crocheting and counted cross stitch, was an avid reader of romance novels and was passionate about cooking as evidenced by her extensive cookbook collection. She was a woman of deep faith, and could be found reading her Bible, listening to Christian music, singing at church, and cherished the time spent with her mother teaching the children's Sunday School. Donna is survived by her husband, Carl "Gene" Fahlsing; children, Karla (Frank) Anderson, Kurt (Sonie) Fahlsing; grandchildren, Rachel Fahlsing, Travis Anderson, and Jordyn Fahlsing, Erik (Anastasia) Beesley, Derek Blaettner; great-grandchildren, Daniel Brant and Annika Beesley; siblings, David (Ellen) Rockey, Jane (Bob) Rock, and Mike Myers. She was predeceased by her brother, Fred "Butch" (Janice) Rockey; grandchildren, Katie Jo, Jessica Katlynn, Trevor, Tyler and Carl Eugene Anderson. Celebration of Life is noon Saturday, March 4 at American Legion Post 47, 601 Reed Rd, Fort Wayne and will continue with food and fellowship until 3:30 pm.
