IN THE CARE OF
D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park
David G. Swanson, 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Born to Gerald and Marilyn Swanson in Frankfort, Indiana, on August 17, 1960, he was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son.
David was many things throughout his life—construction project manager, car mechanic, and a jack-of-all-trades, able to fix absolutely anything.
David loved his Heavenly Father beyond words, serving him faithfully throughout his life. He loved his church family and frequently ran camera and helped with special projects. He absolutely loved to laugh and was always making jokes. He was also deeply devoted to his family. He married the love of his life, Melonie, on April 11, 1981. Together they had two beautiful girls, April and Brittany.
David is survived by his wife, Melonie; children, April (David) Clayton of Fishers, IN, and Brittany (Andrew) Goodwin of Fort Wayne, IN; mother, Marilyn Swanson of Fort Wayne, IN; nephews, Josh Ziegler and Jason Ziegler, both of Fort Wayne, IN; and niece, Hillary (Cody & children Audie and Leon) Troup of Fort Wayne, IN. He loved and was loved beyond measure by his grandchildren, Nathan, Gracie, Emma, and Jayden. He is also survived by his in-laws that he loved dearly, including his mother-in-law, Emma Rohrs, Ed and Marsha Ritchart, Kurt and Marilyn Wong, and Tim and Cheryl Rohrs. He is preceded in death by his father Gerald Swanson; sister, Kathy Ziegler; and a dearly loved father-in-law, George Rohrs.
A small, private gathering will be held at the family home. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne.
