Carlis "Charlie" O'dell Smith III, age 36 passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024. He was born October 11, 1987 in Fort Wayne to Carlis O'dell Smith, Jr. and Penny (Mast) Cline. Charlie graduated from Elmhurst High School, Class of '06 and attended Ball State University. He worked in Inventory Control for Palmer Trucks Kenworth for the past eight years.
Charlie had many hobbies and interests, he loved playing the keyboard and guitar, and listening to various genres of music including the 70's, 80's, 90's grunge, metal and jazz.
He was an avid Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering and Call of Duty gamer, playing with friends into the wee hours of the morning; and built computers as a hobby.
When he wasn't gaming or listening to music, he could be found boating and bass fishing on Craig Lake, enjoying the solitude.
Charlie is survived by his father, Carlis "Pete" Smith, Jr. of Muncie, Ind.; mother, Penny (Kenny) Cline of Coldwater, Mich.; sister, Maggie Panyard of Fort Wayne; and paternal grandmother, Yonda Strunk of Eaton, Ind. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nicole Smith; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Mast; and maternal grandmother, Betty Ort.
Funeral Service is 4:00 pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling two hours prior.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to Humane Fort Wayne - H.O.P.E. for Animals, 4914 Hanna Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
