Allen Myers

Allen Myers, 88, of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1934 in Plymouth, Indiana. He graduated from Plymouth High School where he played a number of different sports. His early working career found him driving for Superior Oil Company, followed by over 34 years as a service technician at Sears before retiring. In his retirement years, he transported cars for various dealerships. Favorite pastimes of Al’s were going to the lake, boating, and just going for a drive. He also spent many years coaching in youth sports, primarily basketball and baseball. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan. Surviving family include his wife, Joyce Myers; sons, Jeff (Brenda) Myers and Scott (Jodi) Myers; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew), Andrea (Eric), Alex, Jenna (Kory), Erika (Samuel), Travis, Joey (Desiree), Emilia (Carlos), Tony, and Benito; four great grandchildren; and half-brothers, Robert (Carla) Myers and Gary Myers. He was preceded in passing by his father, Milburn J. Myers and Frieda (Curtis) Barlow; stepmother, Anna Mae Myers; son, Richard Myers; daughter, Penny Rodriquez; and half-sister, Jean Burch. Memorial prayer service will be 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
