Obituary of Le Tuyet Nguyen Dinh
On Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 at 3:15 PM, Le Tuyet Nguyen Dinh, age 76, of Burke, Virginia passed away with a heart filled with love. Le was born on March 4, 1945, in Yên Bái, Vietnam. She is survived by her 3 children – Son, Trung, and Lee; her son-in-law – Tuan; her brother and sister – San and Phung; and her 2 beloved grandchildren – Ethan and Jenna Nguyen. Le left a lasting memory on everyone she met. Her unparalleled passion for food and cooking was how she expressed her unconditional love for what mattered most to her, which was family. She was the wife of Naval Officer Giang Vinh Dinh, who doted on Le in every aspect and did not require her efforts in providing for the family. However independent and ambitious by nature, she worked her entire life in the food industry and left several landmarks that brought our family and the community priceless memories. Golden Dragon, Pho Thu Do, and the Ritz restaurants were her steadfast determination and entrepreneurship had truly made her one of a kind. She proved that as a Vietnamese woman, you could still gracefully break the stereotypes and be fierce. She stopped at nothing to share in the responsibility to provide, protect and care for her family at the highest standard. Le’s strong reputation in the community allowed her to later scale back from big restaurants and shift her focus to bringing joy into people’s homes through catering. This most importantly allowed her to spend more time with her own family. She enjoyed the simplest things, just quality time sharing a simple meal or singing with her siblings brought her so much happiness. She also rewarded herself with those annual trips to Canada to feast on fruits where her excitement could never be contained. The love for her grandkids also had no boundaries. On top of tirelessly working, she was committed to being part of their daily routine of school and being studious, but at any moment they wanted they could also have a hot delicious meal. You could never tell there wasn’t enough time in the day for all the things she needed to do because she had an amazing way to always give you her undivided attention. Le was too humble to realize it, but her career and perseverance through so many challenges taught many of us the value of resilience, determination, and family. The blood sweat and tears we witnessed her sacrifice, inspired us all to share in her endeavors which we are forever grateful for. She never asked or expected us to help, but her sisters, kids, and all the nieces and nephews… even friends jumped at the opportunity to spend any free time, or even long days and late nights prepping eggrolls, wrapping rice cakes, sharing stories, laughs, just to be part of her relentless desire to provide Vietnamese comfort food. It laid a foundation for us to deeply bond by working together, relying on each other, the cornerstone of how our family is still so tight-knit to this day. She made us each feel integral to her business and personal legacy… and of course, as a bonus, we were always generously gifted with a lucky money red envelope! Those memories of working together are undeniably the most cherished by her family. If you ever walked into Le’s kitchen you felt like you were treated to a Chef’s VIP table. She had a way to mesmerize you with her passion for food. Her energy and vibrance made you forget about the small stuff and just focus on the brighter and more delicious parts of life. So, let us proudly remember her this way, as a role model, proud wife, devoted mother, dedicated daughter, loving sister, adoring Aunt, supportive friend. She was everything beautiful… and so much more than anyone could ever imagine.
