Obituary of R. Andrew Hoskinson
Ronald Andrew “Andy” Hoskinson, age 55, passed away peacefully at his home on December 15, 2019. Always curious and creative with a brilliant mind, Andy distinguished himself as a dedicated Army officer (former CPT, USA; MAJ, USAR), a gifted software engineer, a respected business leader, and an enthusiastic amateur musician and songwriter. But above all, he was a devoted and loving father whose children meant everything to him. Even though Andy saw his recent diagnosis of melanoma as an opportunity to focus more on his own health, he took immediate action to ensure that his children would be taken care of if things didn’t work out. Nothing mattered more to him than their health and happiness. Born December 30, 1963, Andy is survived by his dear children Alexandra (18) and Andrew (11) from his former marriage to Angeline Marino, his mother Joan Letchworth, brothers Charles Jr. (Juliana) and Michael (Sarah Paukstis), sister Katherine (Michel Vloemans), nieces Megan and Sofia, nephews Robert Vloemans and Leonardo, and stepmother Elsbeth. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Sr., sister Kim, nephew Brian, and stepfather Bruce Letchworth. Andy is also survived by his loyal cat Bebe, who bravely stood final watch over him. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main St, Fairfax, VA 22030, where public visitation will take place January 6 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held January 7 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Rd, Reston, VA 20191, followed by burial service at 2:00 pm at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Andy’s name by visiting https://www.stjude.org/donate/pm.html (notification email: [email protected]).
