Ruth "Imogene" Greenfield Brown

Ruth Imogene (Greenfield) Brown, 86, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born April 21, 1929, in Evansville, to the late Alexander and Rose (Russell) Greenfield. She married Jack W. Brown, who preceded her in death in 1996. She and Jack were married 50 years and lived in Evansville most of their lives. Ruth worked at Whirlpool. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, oil painting and loved quilting. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; sister, Evelyn Dickerson; and parents. She is survived by three children, Richard (Kathy) Brown of McKinney, TX, Keith (Debbie) Brown of Evansville, IN and Jackie (Carl) Vanhooser of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Patty (Chris) Bagwell, Randy (Gina) Brown, Kassi (Nick) Dus, Angela (Travis) Felker, Stephen Biggs and Jonathan Biggs; six great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Devillez; good friend who cared for her, Shirley Rupprecht; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery.
