Obituary of Patty Ann Hill
Patty Ann Hill went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was two weeks from celebrating 95 years old. Her greatest blessings in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Patty was born August 31, 1929 in Illinois. She grew up with her parents, Ralph and Rose Waldrop in her hometown of Flat Rock, IL. In 1949, she married the love of her life, Lavern Hill. Together, they made a home in Lawrenceville and Evansville, They were blessed to have two children and Pat was a stay at home mom while the kids were younger. She was an excellent seamstress and made many clothing articles for her kids. When the two children were out of elementary school she worked for a local meat packing store. Because she was always an amazing cook working there was very fun for her. Together they retired from Kwick Klean Industrial Solvents as Salesmen. Pat loved the Lord. She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church of Lawrenceville, where she was a lead Sunday School Teacher as well as serving on many committees. After relocating to Evansville, she attended Centenary United Methodist Church. She taught an adult Sunday School class that became her other family. Pat was an avid fisherwoman. She loved going to Kentucky Lake and Lake Okeechobee, FL fishing for crappie. Her interests also included sports, playing cards, collecting and finishing antiques for herself and many others, mushroom hunting, quilting and caring for and playing with grandkids. Patty is survived by her daughter Greta Jackson (Steve); son, Michael Hill, all of Evansville; grandchildren, Shawn Jackson (Krista), Brandon Jackson (Nicole), Tyler Jackson (Mary); great grandchildren, Ben, Abby, Kyle, Heidi, Ty, Luke, Hadley, Tensley, Natalie, Keegan, Matthew, Brielle, Macie; brother, Walter Waldrop (Joann) of Springfield; sisters, Linda Hixon (Paul, friend), Sharon Wampler (Tom) all of Flat Rock, IL., Katie Corrie (Jack - deceased) of Demotte, IN.
