Marjorie Denzil Harris Leonard

Marjorie Denzil Harris Leonard passed from this life on November 13, 2024 at her home in the Holiday Village in Evansville, Indiana. Denzil was born to Clarence and Gertrude Edgar in Craddock, MO. on September 27, 1928. She lived a lot of her adult life in Rolla, Missouri, where she was married to Edward Harris in 1945. Following Edward's death in 1978, she continued to live in Rolla until her marriage to Dan Leonard in 1999. She and Dan enjoyed living in Pontiac, Missouri on the shores of Bull Shoals Lake for several years, later moving to Mountain Home, Arkansas. After Dan's death, Denzil moved to Evansville, IN where she enjoyed living at the Holiday Village. Denzil was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; husband, Dan; sister Florine; and sister, Betty. She is survived by daughter Joyce Horn and husband Larry; son Ron Harris and wife Linda; grandchildren Kristina Behenna, Brian Harris, Adam Horn, Greg Harris, Abby Baretto; and great grandchildren Brandon, Megan, Natalie, Sadie, and Benjamin. She also leaves behind one sister Ella, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Denzil was a faithful member of the Rolla Church of Christ and the Oak Hill Church of Christ in Evansville. She leaves behind many good friends in Missouri, Arkansas, and Evansville, IN. Although she greatly missed her life in the Ozarks, she enjoyed living at the Holiday Village, and especially enjoyed the friendship of her neighbors and staff there. The family would like to thank the Holiday Village, Heritage Hospice, and friends from the Oak Hill and Rolla churches of Christ for the love, care, and compassion they showed Denzil, especially in her latter days. Evansville family and friends are invited to visit at the Alexander North Chapel on Sunday, November 17 from 1 to 4 PM, and to attend funeral services at Alexander North at 11 AM on November 18 with visitation prior at 10 AM. Missouri friends and family are invited to visit at Null and Sons Funeral Chapel in Rolla, Missouri on Wednesday, November 20 at 10 AM, with funeral services at 11 AM. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Garden following funeral services. Denzil was a true daughter of the Ozarks, much loved by all who knew her, and will be lovingly remembered and sincerely missed.
