Obituary of Lois Jean Chandler
Lois Jean Chandler, 74, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Evansville. She was born in Lynnville, Indiana on March 2, 1946 to the late Victor and Margaret (Shook) Bonke. She loved knitting, reading, genealogy and especially her great grandchildren. Every year her mission was knitting hats and donating them to the homeless veterans and the YWCA. She truly enjoyed helping others. She worked at Women’s Healthcare 24 years. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Bonke (Arthur); brothers, Stanley Bonke (Ruby), and Marvin Bonke. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Chandler; daughter, Lisa Redd; grandchildren, Samantha Brookover (Jeffrey), and Courtney Hankins; great grandchildren, Tre and Averi Brookover and Wesley Craig; niece, Jo Beth (Tourigny) Lytle; and stepson, Steven Wilzbacher. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2020 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Celebrant Carrie Hatchett, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
