Julia M. Champlain, 84, of Evansville, passed away March 21, 2018, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born January 5, 1934, in Warrick County, IN to the late Guy and Esther (Elzer) Maurer.
She worked for Libbs Candy for over 20 years before retiring as their manager. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and making jelly. Most of all, she loved spending time with her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Regena Lee Champlain; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Hillenbrand and Paul Kroeger.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Reginald Champlain; daughter, Michele Scott (Jeff); grandchildren, Amanda Shelby (Dan) and Alicia Aune (Josh); great-grandchildren, Julie, Edwin and Augusta Shelby; and sisters, Dorothy Kroeger, Joyce Hillenbrand and Guylene Maurer.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Fr. Ted Tempel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
