Homer L. Hauschild

Homer L. Hauschild passed away on September 11, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital at the age of 96. He was born on August 22, 1927 to the late John and Caroline (Bockelman) Hauschild. He grew up on his farm in Union Township and graduated from Reitz High School. He worked as a Livestock buyer at National Farmers Organization. He was also a local farmer along with his two sons and was a member of the Riverbend Association and the Reitz R-men Varsity Club. He is survived by his daughters, Connie Mesker, and Lisa Springer (Bryan Sanford); sons, David (Beth) Hauschild, and Mark (Penny) Hauschild; grandchildren, Keith (Carol) Mesker, Kevin Mesker, Jacob (Hannah) Springer, Joshua (Ellie) Springer, Jonathan (Alicia) Springer, Jackson Springer, Joseph Springer (Kate Miller), Heather (Chad) Autry, Brian (Amanda) Hauschild, Sarah (Kelsey) Pruiett, Blake Miller; great-grandchildren, Alex, Jenna, Drew Mesker, Isaac, Emmitt Mesker, Ainslee Springer (Barber), Baby Springer yet to arrive, Jax Autry, Madison Ellenberg, Justin Hauschild, Kylee, Weslee, Blakelee, Bentlee Pruiett; and one great-great-grandchild, Ember Hauschild; and many nieces and nephews. Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hauschild (Williams); brothers, Cornelius, Clarence, John, and Harold Hauschild; sisters, Erma Hauschild, and Marie Seltzer; and his son-in-law, Alan Mesker. The family would like to thank the Nurses on unit 5600 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. Friends and family may visit at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN on Thursday, September 14, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
