Evarts P. Jensen

Evarts P. Jensen, 86, of Indianapolis, formerly of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Forest Creek Commons in Indianapolis. He was born April 14, 1926, Rochester, MN. He was employed by SIGECO’s Culley Station where he retired after 15 years. He also worked at Deaconess Hospital and was the Director of Plant Operations for 17 years. He had a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and was a registered Professional Engineer. Evarts was a member of the Methodist Temple and American Society of Mechanical Engineers and past member of NRA and Isaac Walton Conservation Association. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and vacationing at his summer home in Rough River, KY. Evarts is survived by his daughter, Janine Evancho; son, Charles Jensen; granddaughters, Carrie Sawyer and Cathy Evancho; and great grandson, Carter Sawyer. Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
