IN THE CARE OF
Alexander Funeral Home - North Chapel
Ethel M. Creamer, 81, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital. Ethel was born January 13, 1929 at home in a little house premature in Reed, KY to Elmer and Lena Watkins. Her parents were told she wouldn’t live past the age of 2. Ethel then began living life on her own terms as she did for the rest of her days.
She began working three days after graduation and continued for the rest of her life. From her humble beginnings she became well respected personally and professionally throughout the community. She was deeply involved in the Civitan Club, serving as president numerous times and has been a real estate broker for 45 years. She and her husband Walter of 53 years raised three sons and a multitude of other children from extended families and neighbors who needed a place to call home. She balanced her very busy work, family and personal schedule with remarkable results. She has always supported her sons, family and friends with compassion, dignity, and strength.
Her presence will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Whatever name she is known by: sis, babe, mom, mamaw or Ethel, she was one of a kind and will live in our hearts forever.
Ethel is survived by her son, Bruce Creamer (Betty); son, Walter Creamer (Elaine); grandchildren, Shawn, Christopher, Aron, Carolyn, and Marissa; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 13, 2010, at Alexander North Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel.
