Donald J. Singleton, 87, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born January 27, 1927, in Evansville, IN.
Don was a member of St. Joseph Parish Vanderburgh County.
He served in the US Army and was a member of VFW Post #1114.
Don retired from Sterling Brewery after 30 years and belonged to the Sterling Retirees. Following retirement, Don volunteered by giving communion calls for shut-ins and others in need. He also enjoyed volunteering for 17 years at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Singleton and daughter, Cathy Ann Luigs.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Neacie M. (Bradley) Singleton; grandson, Shawn Luigs; granddaughter, Jamie Latham (Ron); and great granddaughters, Courtney Steiner, Hannah Gore, Keilah Gore, and Mackenzie Gore.
Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at St. Joseph Parish Vanderburgh County, officiated by Fr. Gene Schroeder, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 5:30 PM at Alexander North Chapel and Tuesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.
