Margaret L. D'Angelo

Margaret L. D'Angelo-Smith, age 90, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2016 at St. Albertine Home of Hammond. Peggy was born September 14, 1926 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Joseph and Victoria (nee DeRosa) D'Angelo. Also preceding her in death are her son, Timothy Smith; brothers, Joseph, Frank, Antonio, and Salvatore D'Angelo; sisters, Angelina Hudson, Alesandra Borah, and Josephine D'Angelo. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert (Wendy) Smith and David (Damaris) Smith; grandchildren, Melanie Smith, Ryan Smith, and Andrew Smith; sister, Maria Abner. Peggy was a secretary for Hammond Public School Corporation for over twenty years. In retirement she volunteered at the front desk for St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond and Dyer. She was a devoted and faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Peggy was a hard working mother that taught her sons valuable work ethics. Visitation will be Friday, November 25, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12 noon at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S.
