Judith (Judy) Marie O’Brien

Judith Marie O’Brien age 76, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer D. O’Brien in 1996.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Sheri D. (Deon) Hardin of Cape Coral, FL; sons, Michael J. (Dawn) O’Brien of Naperville, IL and David W. (Kelly) O’Brien of Arlington Heights, IL. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jake Dowdy, Dakota Hardin, Dylan Hardin, Aidan O’Brien, Kyle O’Brien, Megan O’Brien, Tyler O’Brien and Logan O’Brien and 3 great grandchildren.
Judy’s surviving siblings include Bill (Dee) Kaminski of Edwardsburg, MI, Jim Kaminski of St. Petersburgh, FL and Tina Sanders of South Bend, IN.
Judy was born on March 3, 1942 in South Bend, IN to the late John and Eliose Kaminski. She and Homer were married on October 18, 1963. Judy lived most of her adult life in Griffith, IN raising her 3 kids as a homemaker, enjoying sewing, making and selling crafts, and supporting her church, Dyer Presbyterian Church. After many years making and selling crafts in Northwest Indiana, Judy and Homer began selling crafts in her beloved Bridgeton, IN, where they eventually purchased a home. The Covered Bridge Festival and the community of Bridgeton became her life’s passion for over 30 years. Judy most enjoyed making crafts and selling them out of her house, the Bridgeton Mill Artisan Barn, and the many festivals in Bridgeton.
Judy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Dyer Presbyterian Church (2501 Hart Street Dyer, IN)
Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul Anderson officiating. A luncheon will follow Funeral Services.
Private burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
