Charles Chuck R. Harbin

Charles R. “Chuck” Harbin, age 82 of Schererville, IN passed away at Progressive Hospital in Merrillville IN on Monday, March 15, 2010 with his family at his side. He was born in Hammond, IN on August 18, 1927 to George & Thelma (nee Molle) Harbin. He served in the US Navy in the Philippines after graduating from the Whiting High School. Member of the Whiting Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. 613. Chuck was a man who was passionate about his family who always came first in his life. He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Chuck loved his yellow Labrador named Sassy. Surviving to mourn Chuck’s passing is his wife of over 60 years, Sally (nee Clark) Harbin. One son: Rick (Cindy) Harbin, his daughter: Linda (Ted) LaTulip. Four Grandchildren: Jessica (Ryan) Pope, Teddy LaTulip, Colette & Erica Harbin. Sister-in-law: Doris (late Edward) Harbin. There will be a visitation at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, IN on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Minister Jerry Cleek officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Memorial gifts in Chuck’s name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
