IN THE CARE OF
Leppert Mortuaries – Carmel
Shirley Jean Lynch, 82, went to the lord and his heavenly home on February 12, 2019 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her and gave her peace.
Shirley was born to the late Melvin and Ella Mae Sanderson in Trumann, AR on January 8, 1937. She had a picturesque childhood surrounded by loving family members and friends in Arkansas. She enjoyed reminiscing about these early years and shared many fun memories. She moved to Michigan City, IN in her late teen years and married the late William Fairfield. They had two children together, Elaine and Ron. Her life was dedicated to her children and they enjoyed a wonderful and close relationship. She loved shopping, trying new restaurants, decorating, travel and being with her family. She was truly “one of a kind” and there will never be another quite like our Nan. Her bigger than life personality and smile will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her and her memory will live on.
Shirley is survived by her children, Ron Fairfield (Oleta) and Elaine Netolicky (Robert); sister Clara Lucheen (Kevin); grandchildren Nicole (William), Yvonne, Hilary and Nicholas; her great grandchildren Van English, Charlize English, Gavin Fairfield and Blaze Tate; nephews Jeffrey Soja (Coartney) and Seth Soja (Jessica); great nieces and nephews, Jesse Soja, Wyatt Soja, Ella Soja, Josephine Soja, Andrew Soja and Cameron Soja.
Shirley’s service will be Saturday, February, 16th 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Leppert Mortuary in Carmel with a reception to follow. Kevin Lucheen will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shirley’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Leppert Mortuary, 900 N Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032.
