Katherine Therese Jacobsen

Katherine Jacobsen passed away on June 5, 2023. She was born May 25, 1932 in Kenton, OH. She grew up in St. Henry, Ohio and attended college at Miami University. She was a Kappa Alpha Theta and graduated with a business degree. Her entire career was retailing with a specialty in women’s apparel. Kathe was a buyer at Rikes and Pogues in Cincinnati, where she met her husband Karl. She and her husband opened numerous retail-clothing stores in the state of Indiana and 2023 is the 50th year in operation. Kathe enjoyed volunteering her time at school, church and was an exclusive babysitter for her grandkids. She organized many sports outings for players coached by her husband. She loved shopping, daily sweet treats, and IU basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. Her dogs were a focal point and usually accompanied her and her husband to work. Kathe is survived by daughter Sally Schneider (Kurt) and grandkids Jasen (Taryn), Nick, Kristen, son John Jacobsen (Katie) and grandkids Allison, Alex and Matthew, sister Harriet (Val) Ottaviani and 4 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Karl Jacobsen and parents, Edward and Katherine Gels.
