Obituary of William “Bill” Wah Lee
LEE – William “Bill” Wah August 23, 1911 – July 28, 2012 Bill was blessed with a long and healthy life and even in his later years continued to live independently with support from his loving family. He was born in Sidney, B.C., but lived in Calgary most of his life. He was married to Lily (nee Wong) with whom he had five children: Jeannette (Ed) Louie, Donald (Leslie) Lee, Daniel (Nita) Lee, Darlene (Arthur) Louie and Deborah (Randy) Mah. Bill has thirteen Grandchildren: Brian, Karen and Shauna Louie; Andrew and Krista Lee; Matthew Lee and Meghan Rennirt; Stephanie, Kevin and Graeme Louie; Christopher, Curtis and Colin Mah and thirteen Great Grandchildren: Noah and Keira Louie; Evan and Natalie Wong; Grayson and Acacia Olandesca; Dameon Rennirt; Shalaina, Skyler and Eden Ma; Owen, Kate and Zoie Louie and brother George Wah Lee (Violet). Bill was an entrepreneur. He owned many retail stores and worked with Lily operating three downtown ladies fashion stores in Calgary for over 40 years: Lili Fashion, Darlyn’s Fashion, and Happy Girl. Since retiring in 1985, Bill spent time with family, friends and enjoyed cooking and playing Lotto 649. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 1:00p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre 1331 – 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2.
