Richard D. Etter

Richard D. Etter of Bloomington, passed away in Meadowood Nursing Home at the age of 86 on October 17, 2012. He was born in Wimbledon, North Dakota to Clare(Phillippe) and Herman Etter. Richard graduated from Ogilvie High School and entered the US Navy at the age of 18. He was a WWII veteran. Richard continued his education in Chicago, then worked for RCA in quality control until his retirement in 1986. He married Peggy Mathis in 1948 in Bloomington and she survives. Peggy and Richard celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on October 2, 2012. Richard is survived by three sons; Richard, Jr.(wife Deborah), Timothy J., and Kevin L. Etter and one daughter; Nancy J. Etter. He is also survived by four brothers; Wallace Etter of Mora, MN, Bob Etter of Isle, MN, Tom Etter of White Bear Lake, MN, Jerry Etter of Ogilvie, MN, two sisters; Ora Eckhart of Ogilvie, MN and Joanne Munsterteiger of Mora, MN, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death one son; Daniel F. Etter and an infant daughter; Debra Lyne Etter. Friends may call on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 11a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, IN 47404. Burial in Clear Creek Cemetery with military rites by Monroe County Honor Guard.
