Obituary of Janet Faye (Waldrip) Ping
Janet Faye Waldrip Ping, 85, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Monroe Hospital. Janet put up a hard fight against Parkinson’s Disease, and a short fight against Covid 19. Janet is survived by her children, Marc (Mary) Ping, Teresa Ping, Anita Kinser, and Julie (Ronald) Nieves. All of her children always kidded her about Marc being her favorite child, and he was. She is also survived by her best friend in life, Connie Lawson, who was like a sister to her. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Chrissy (Rick) Owen, Shannon (Ryan) Blackwell and Casey Kinser, grand sons, Logan Nieves, Cole Nieves and Joshua (Jacki) Brown, great-grandchildren, Taylor Ping, Morgan Blackwell, Jayden Blackwell, Nathan Owen, Connor Owen, and a great-great -granddaughter Ava Rinnert. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Logan Ping, on October 16, 2017, and by her parents, Noble Waldrip and Glodene Waldrip, brothers, Bernard Waldrip, Carl Waldrip, Earl Freeland Waldrip, and sister Evelyn Rogers. Janet loved preparing big Sunday dinners for her family. She was best known for her fried chicken, homemade spaghetti and meatballs, chicken and dumplings, and Marc’s favorite birthday cake each year, made from scratch German Chocolate Cake. Janet was employed by Westinghouse for many years, and then went to work for H & R Block. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, sewing, and being with her best friend, Connie. Janet was a loving, caring and generous person to all her family and friends. Janet will be greatly missed, but will live on in all of our hearts. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor David Lawson. Interment will follow at Koontz Cemetery.
