Mary Emma Storey, 93, died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was born November 6, 1929, in Columbus, Oh to the late George Pardi and Thelma Settles. Mary was married to the late G Robert Storey on April 16, 1949. Mary has two brothers, Patrick Pardi (deceased) and Jason Settles.
Mary was a long-time member of Saint Vincent Depaul Society. She was an adventurer and visited Europe, Africa, and traveled extensively throughout the US. Mary was an animal lover including farm, domestic, and wild pets. Mary was a contributor to many charitable organizations.
Mary and Bob had five children: Mark Storey (Nancy), Dan Storey (deceased) (Wanda), Peggy Obergfell, Matt Storey (Janice), Joe Storey (Claudia). She had 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Mary and Bob opened their hearts to young Cuban refugee children, Bill and Teresita and Philippine exchange student Jeff Gonzalez who still consider her mom.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N. 17th Ave., Beech Grove, IN 46107. Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery following mass. The Mercy Meal will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N. 17th Ave., Beech Grove, IN 46107.
