Charles Pritt age 88 of Beverly West Virginia passed away October 20, 2024 in Indianapolis IN.
Charles was born in Beverly West Virginia to David Alfred Pritt and Bertha Annie Ettie McCauley on March 8, 1936. He married Donna Mae Agan in 1959, and enjoyed 61 joyous years together. Charles graduated at the top of his class with honors from The School of Hard Knocks. He was a proud member of the US Army serving from 1956-1958.
Charles was co-owner of Pritt Electric which was established in 1985. The electric business was lots of long hours and hard work. In the end it was all worth it as the business grew and grew, lasting more than 4 decades.
Charles had a tremendous amount of love and devotion for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren that included watching them at musicals, dance recitals, and multiple sporting events. Attending Grandparents, Veterans Day or simply a school lunch was an honor and privilege as his time with them was second to none.
His hobbies included solving Sudoku, challenging jigsaw puzzles, and volunteering with a family friend as a ride-along to deliver meals for those in need. For years Charles was an avid reader of the newspaper (until it got too expensive). He then turned his focus on cookbooks, thriller novels, and the Bible. He also enjoyed watching his western movies, cheering on the Colts, and just recently he took up a liking for Caitlin Clark and The Fever.
After the passing of his beloved wife, Charles filled his void of loneliness through his neighbors and dear friend, Linda. Together the group would gather for a meal or a simple afternoon cup of coffee. On the porch, long days were filled with military stories of Germany and conversations of their past upbringings.
Charles also found great joy and pleasure in gardening. With decades of knowledge and experience, he was able to provide his family with the best advice on "how to make your garden grow." He and Donna together prepared countless jars of salsa that would be requested and handed down to family members.
Charles is preceded in death by his spouse: Donna Mae Agan, grandson: Ryan C. Pritt, parents: David Alfred Pritt and Bertha Annie Ettie McCauley, brothers: Gus, Alfred, Leland, Carl, and Clyde, sisters: Mary, Ellen, and Lottie.
Charles is survived by his four children: Giland (Dorinda) Pritt, Chris Pritt, Randy and (Roberta) Pritt, Kim and (Doug) Keown, sister: Helen Castanien, nine wonderful grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to German Shepherd Dog Rescue (GSD Rescue Indy).
