Maybelle Boyd Peters

Flora Maybelle Boyd Peters, 83, walked into the arms of her loving Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 9, 2018. She was welcomed to heaven by her Savior, by her daughter, Ronda Hale Peters, by her unborn child, and by her mom and dad, Gracie Rhodes and William Isaac Boyd. She is at peace, and her mind and body are whole. Alzheimer’s took the wife, mother, sister, grandmother, we loved, but Alzheimer’s was powerless to take the love we have for her. Maybelle passed into the arms of Jesus from the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She fought a good fight, finished her course, and received her reward. Maybelle is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Vernon Wesley Peters, Sr., ten children, four daughters, Jean Thomas (Steve), Jane Peters, Ruth Thomas (Jimmy), Rebecca Fugel (Billy), six sons, V.W. Peters, Jr. (Susan), Tim Peters (Sandy), David Peters (Karen), Daniel Peters (Lorrie), Arnold Peters (Tina), Leslie Peters (Hope), two sisters, Eva Phelps(Melvin), Louise Fant, two brothers, Doc Boyd (Sherrie), James Boyd (Pam), twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and her loving caretaker, Susan Penn. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Victory Baptist Church, 1300 Dillons Fork Road, Fieldale, VA 24086 on Saturday, December 15th, 2018. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm with the Celebration of Life Service to follow. Interment will be at Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
