Matthew John Clarke

CLARKE, Matthew, 47, of Montpelier, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 from injuries sustained from a car accident. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Clarke; three sons, Jackson, Chad and Zachary; parents, William and Patricia Clarke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Priscilla Floyd; siblings, Christopher, Kevin, Cathy and Jeff; three nephews, Michael, Ben and Alex; and great-nephew, Brody. Matt was a senior director in corporate audit and security services at Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group, Charlotte, N.C., and was formerly an executive with Capital One. He served as an usher and was involved in the Haiti Ministry at St. Ann's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia with an undergraduate and a master's degree. In addition to being a big Georgia Bulldog fan, he enjoyed golfing, working in his yard and coaching for the Rockville Youth Basketball League. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 105 S. Snead St., Ashland, Va. 23005, where services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Haiti Ministry at St. Ann's Catholic Church. .
