Obituary of James William Randolph Foxworthy
James William Randolph Foxworthy, 22, Indianapolis, died peacefully at home on March 12th, 2022. Referred to as “Foxy,” James’ captivating smile and infectious energy served as a beacon of joy to all that surrounded him. Born in Indianapolis on May 26th, 1999, James attended elementary and middle school at Park Tudor. James and his family spent most of their vacations in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic. The Foxworthy family resided there from 2004-2007 where James attended The Abraham Lincoln School in La Romana. Throughout his extended time in the Dominican, he learned to speak fluent Spanish in addition to honing his golf, sailing, and tennis skills. Then, he graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit in 2018. Taking after his late father, Randolph Foxworthy, golf was James’ ultimate passion. Whether it was admiring Tiger putting on the green jacket or playing at his two favorite courses, Crooked Stick and La Romana, James found his happiness on the course. During high school, James also exemplified his athletic interests on the lacrosse field and tennis courts. From the time he was born, James spent his summers on the waters of Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana where he also enjoyed surfing, catching rays, and spending time with family. James was exceptionally vocal about the fierce love he held for countless others. He radiated an unparalleled sense of compassion and loyalty, and was loved by all who knew him. He served as the chieftain, role model, and unifying link of various friend groups that he made into families. His closest friends refer to him as “the glue” that held them all together. To know him was to love him, and now cherishing him as our angel is our honor and privilege. Prior to his passing, James was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity while working towards a Communications Degree with minors in Hispanic Studies and Economics at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. A true Hoosier at heart, James was planning to start his professional career post-graduation in Indianapolis with AssuredPartners. James’ legacy will live on as the beloved son of Jenifer James Foxworthy; loving brother of Ryan Foxworthy, Bryan (Brooke) Foxworthy, Katie (Jason) Glassley, and Gallagher Foxworthy; adored nieces and nephews Jackson, Emma, Carter, Tillie, Ashton, Layla, Simon, Henley, Tyler and Maxwell; dear grandson of Barbara “Muffi” James; loved nephew of Candace James, James (Fabiana) James Junior, and Jeff (Becky) Foxworthy; and admired cousin to Samantha James, Elizabeth James, Theodore James and Julia James. James is preceded in death by his esteemed father Randolph Foxworthy, cherished siblings Krista Lynn and Randolph Junior Foxworthy; grandparents James “Jimmy” James, Richard Foxworthy, and Elizabeth Foxworthy; and uncles Andrew James and Rick Foxworthy.
