Vivian Elizabeth Crenshaw

Elizabeth Meanley Crenshaw passed away on July 16, 2018. She was born January 8, 1923 in Toano, VA to Ira S. and Katherine B. Meanley. She was predeceased by her siblings, Katherine Phillips, Ira S. Meanley and Edmund B. Meanley. She is survived by her son, Courtney B. Crenshaw (Laurie) and nieces and nephews, Carol Burgess, Branch Meanley (Michele), Kate Francis (Nash), Lou Ann May (Ron) and seven great nieces and nephews. She attended William and Mary for two years and then John's Hopkins University for her certification in phlebology. She worked in Louisiana and Richmond for one of the leading allergy specialist at the time. When she returned to Williamsburg, she worked for Colonial Williamsburg for over 40 years where she indulged her lifetime love of history and learning as a costumed hostess, supervisor and payroll specialist. After officially retiring, she continued working for Colonial Williamsburg part time, directing guests at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg. She was a member of Bruton Parish Church and served on the Alter Guild and volunteered in the church office doing their deposits and general office work. She led an active and productive life continuing to work until she was 90 years old. She was a kind and gracious lady and will be missed by those left behind.
