Paul Amos Lawson III

Paul (Pete) Amos Lawson III, age 44, the son of Paul Jr and Jane (Cribb) Lawson, was born March 2, 1978 in Fairfield, CA. He died suddenly August 10, 2022, at his home in Williamsburg, VA after a brief illness. Paul grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Trinity High school in Archdale, NC with the class of 1996. He enjoyed and excelled in high school wrestling. He looked forward to the opportunity to coach his own kids. Paul lived a very free lifestyle throughout his 20s and made friends everywhere he went. He began working for a government contractor and took on many different positions throughout the years. He started working for the Department of Defense in January of 2022; this promotion was one he was very proud of receiving. He met Jayme Hoffman in Virginia Beach, VA in 2012 and they moved to Williamsburg, VA in 2015. Paul and Jayme were married on November 25, 2016 and were blessed with three children: Henry (5), Elliot (3), and Spencer (1). He enjoyed cooking, drawing, playing guitar, and playing with his kids, nieces and nephews. His sarcastic, witty personality drew people to him. Paul is preceded in death by his mother Jane Lawson, grandfather Paul Lawson, grandmother Thelma Cribb, and grandfather Archie Cribb. He is survived by his wife, Jayme Lawson and children Henry Keagan, Elliot Viola, and Spencer Paige, Williamsburg VA; his father, Paul Lawson Jr, Mt Airy NC; his sister, Stephanie Lawson, Archdale NC; his brother, Jason Lawson, Mt Airy NC; his grandmother, Joyce Lawson, Archdale NC; his father and mother in law, Rex and Marian Hoffman, Henderson IA; his sister in law, Kristy(Marty) Rieken, Oakland IA; his sister in law, Mindy(Dave) Bowman, Lake Hills TX; his brother in law, Jared(Jessica) Hoffman, Oakland IA; nephews Caleb, Ryland, Kyler, Keaten, Kort, Kasper, Evan, Alec, and Luke; nieces Abigail, Jennifer, Maelie, Layney, Sydney, and Amelia. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Paul’s family and friends are gathering to celebrate his life on Monday, August 15, 2022 with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA.
