Leland Waddell Williams passed away on November 19, 2020.
He was born March 13, 1940, in Bryan, Texas to the late John Waddell Williams and Gladys Lyle Williams. After growing up in Louisiana, he graduated from DeRidder High School and Louisiana State University with a B.A. in Journalism.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pamela Price Williams; daughter, Andrea (Timothy) Mulvaney; son, Jeffrey L. (Ramona Carey) Williams; and six grandchildren, Abigail, Bronwyn, and Dorothy Mulvaney, and Angus, Cooper, and Estelle Williams.
From 1963 to 1964, he served the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. in Korea and Ft. Slocum, NY. From 1965 to 1969, he worked in sales for the Benson Printing Company in Nashville, TN. In 1970, he began working for the S. D. Warren Company (later SAPPI Fine Paper North America) sales division in Cincinnati and Chicago and sales management in Los Angeles and Boston. His last position prior to leaving in 2000 was the Director of Sales Operations.
During his time in Ohio, he was an elder at Calvin Presbyterian Church, and in California, a deacon at St. Peter's By the Sea Presbyterian Church. While in Sudbury, Massachusetts, he was a member of Sudbury United Methodist Church and Troop Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 63. After moving to Williamsburg, he was an Executive Partner at the Mason School of Business at William & Mary; member of Bruton Parish Church; and president of the Kingsmill Men's Golf Association.
A private graveside service for family will be held at Bruton Parish Church. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to either Bruton Parish Church or the Salvation Army.
