Helen Josephine Moore, 91, died peacefully in her sleep at 4:00 am on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Williamsburg, VA. She was born on May 28, 1926 in New York City, NY to Joseph and May Kenney, and grew up in Nanuet, NY. She married Walter L. Maryanski on December 18,1966, who passed away in 1985. Helen worked for many years as a secretary for a tulip import firm in New York City. After retiring to Pennsylvania, she volunteered as a legal secretary for the Tobyhanna Army Depot for 10 years. Helen enjoyed cooking, crafting and watching the NY Yankees. She also loved to travel and learn about different cultures.
Survivors include her son, Thomas J. Neale of Delray Beach, Florida and daughter, Michelle (Terrence A.) Hurt of Toano, Virginia; a sister, Ann (Ernest) Doherty of Cocoa Beach, Florida; brother, Andy Kivia of Georgia; four granddaughters- Lauresa Escribano, Nadene Neale, Deanna Neale and Cheyenne Hurt; one great granddaughter, Nessa Escribano and twin great grandsons on the way; four nephews and eight nieces.
Viewing services will be held at Goble Funeral Home in Sparta, NJ and Catholic Mass at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church in Chester, NJ with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ. You may offer condolences at www.nelsencares.com.
