Charles Standard Lee Sr.

Evangelist Charles S. Lee Sr., 68, of Newport News, passed away on June 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lee and his daughter, Gail Tyler. He graduated from Bruton Heights High School in 1963, he soon after joined the Army. After leaving the Army he began a career for the Naval Weapons Station as an ordinance technician, which he later retired from. Charles was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Christian Center. He is survived by his mother, Martha J. Lee of Williamsburg; sons, Lawrence Jones (Nordia), Spencer Smith, Charles S. Lee Jr., Lonnie Roacher; daughters, Angela Holloway, Charnell Lee; sisters, Nola Wallace of Illinois, Shelley Lee of Williamsburg; brother, Leon Lee of Hampton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grand kids. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 12-1 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg.
