Nécrologie de Mark Twain Judd
Mark Twain Judd, 87 of Waynesboro, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Augusta Health Center. Mark made his journey to be with the Lord Tuesday after a long battle with Heart Disease. Born February 18, 1927 in Luray, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Byrd Franklin Judd and Eva Catherine Strickler, his brothers Benjamin Franklin Judd, Albert Joseph Judd and his Sister Mary Alice Nemo. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anna Rutledge Judd. Two, loving daughters, Susan Rebecca Judd Accashian (Robert) and Brenda Judd vonSeldeneck (Paul). Three Granddaughters, Lisa Mays Benedetti (Matt), Rebecca vonSeldeneck Houser (Lee) and Marla vonSeldeneck. Five Great Grandchildren, Jeb Benedetti, Emma Benedetti, Dylan Beverly, Eden Houser and Kyle vonSeldeneck. And a number of nieces and nephews. Above all else, he loved this country. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. He also was a member of the Marine Reserves. After the wars he worked for several construction companies and found his home of 35 years with the Virginia Tractor Company/Carter Machinery. He worked his way up from Custodian to General Service Manager. He retired from the Fishersville location of Carter Machinery. Mark loved to tell a story, a joke or recite one of his funny and sometimes irreverent poems. Many of his Doctors and Nurses looked forward to his office visits to hear his latest tale. He enjoyed fishing, boating, archery and spending time around the dinner table solving all of the world’s troubles with family and friends. If only he were in charge, “The Gov” would have things right in this world. He often broke out in song – not always on key – at the top of his lungs much to the delight of those around him. When his song was over, he would break out in laughter. Despite his sometimes ailing health, he always had a smile. His best times were spent with his family. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 29th 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, Va. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, a Veteran organization of your choice or the Bethlehem Lutheran Renovation Fund Drive, 1148 Ladd Road, Waynesboro, Va 22980.
