CHESTERFIELD
Gary Gordon Estes, 67, of Turner Road, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Johnston Willis Hospital in Chesterfield.
He was born on May 26, 1945, in Waynesboro, a son of the late Cecil Gordon and Susie Myers Estes. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the DuPont Company after 38 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Joyce Huffman Estes; a son, Michael Scott Estes and wife, Amanda, of Chesterfield; a daughter, Aimee Gwynne Wenger and husband, Lowell, of Williamsburg, Pennsylvania; a brother, Garland Estes and wife, Anna Belle, of Lyndhurst; six grandchildren, Michaela Estes, Ella Estes, Heather Wenger, Taylor Wenger, Kelsey Wenger, and Brandon Wenger.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Augusta Memorial Park by Phil Forehand. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 340.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Estes, Alan Estes, Howard Estes, Michael Scott Estes, Lowell Wenger, Paul Simpson, and Christopher Huffman.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Transverse Myelitis Association, 1787 Sutter Parkway, Powell, OH 43065-8806.
