Mayre Belle (Albertson) Pritchard, 95, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA and most recently Cincinnati, passed away on May 28, 2024. Mayre lived in the Tidewater Virginia area most of her life and several years ago moved to Cincinnati, OH to be closer to her son and family. Born in South Mills, NC on June 30, 1928, she was the daughter of William Edward Albertson and Mamie Temple Albertson. Mayre grew up in the South Mills, NC area and moved to Norfolk, VA when she married. During her career, she worked in several organizations, and her favorite was C. Lloyd Johnson, a military distributor headquartered in Norfolk, VA. She was a member at First United Methodist Church of Norfolk, VA, and an avid NASCAR fan. She rarely missed a race. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband Walter Worrell Pritchard, her sister Maurvoneen Bryan, and her long-time companion George Emmett Gray. Left to cherish her memory; her son Walter Stanley and his partner Patricia Zerbe; two grandsons Jonathan (Kristie) and Sean (Stephanie); and four great-grandchildren, Remy, Landon, Rowan and Elisa. She is survived by her sister Annie Laurie (Albertson) Whedbee, her husband (Vernon) and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had an extended loving family from Pennsylvania to South Carolina and beyond, including Karen Barr and Kelly Gay, as well as the entire Bittner Family. A service will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 601 N. Witchduck Rd on Saturday, July 13. Her family will receive friends and family from 1-2 PM with a service at 2 PM followed by her entombment and a reception at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dignitymemorial.com
