Keiko Kawatsu Culbertson, 87, formerly of Virginia Beach passed away of natural causes on July 15, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Keiko was born on January 8, 1931 in Japan to the late Fukuma and Hatsue Kawatsu. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry James Culbertson, USN. They met while she was working as a seamstress altering Navy uniforms in Japan. An adventurer at heart, she accepted his proposal and began a lifelong journey together. They eventually settled in Virginia Beach, VA where they raised three children: Samuel, Herbert, and Charles Culbertson. Keiko was a retired seamstress for Sears, Roebuck & Company. She was an avid member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church. With her kind spirit and welcoming heart, she easily made friends everywhere she went. In addition to her sons, Keiko is survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The viewing will be at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home at 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 between 5-7 p.m. on July 26, 2018. A funeral service will be held at Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church at 245 S Rosemont Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452 at 11 a.m. on July 27, 2018. Interment will follow the ceremony at Rosewood Memorial Park; 631 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
