Jason Ralph Whiting

Jason R. Whiting, 46, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Norfolk, VA. Jason was born at Travis AFB in California and lived most of his life in Altus, OK. Jason graduated Altus High School and had served in Desert Storm with the Oklahoma NG prior to enlisting in the Coast Guard to later retire. He was also a member of the VFW. Jason had a crazy sense of adventure, he loved camping the outdoors with his family and he attempted the TAT before he became too ill to continue. He fought a valiant battle with heart disease and family has asked that donations be sent to the American Heart Association. Left to cherish his memory is his fiancé, Kimberly Thurber and her son Steven Thurber; parents, Ralph and Sandi Whiting; children, Andrew Jason and Claire Rose Whiting, McEwen, TN; Chase Niemeyer and grand-daughter, Evelyn Rain Neimyer of Enid OK; sister, Beth Whiting of Altus OK; nephew, Zachary Wylie, Fort Worth TX.
