James Macrae Jessup

James Macrae Jessup, 80, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2018. Mr. Jessup was born in Tomahawk, NC on December 12, 1937. Mr. Jessup retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and served as a merchant marine. He was preceded in death by his parents David Jessup and Elizabeth Kerr Jessup, brothers David, Robert and Jimmie Jessup, sister Gracie Jessup and sister-in-law Sherry Jessup. Survivors include: wife Erica Norton Jessup, sons: Eric Ainsley Jessup and Patrick Michael Jessup, daughter-in-law Sindy J. Jessup; nine grandchildren Zakiya, Brittany, Erika, Shereece, Christina, Michal, Salomé, David and Eric; five great-grandchildren Nautica, Nijah, Cedric, Nathaniel and Zoey; brother Charles E. Jessup and sister-in-law Mary; sister Retha Freeman and brother-in-law Lester; and sister-in-law Minnie Jessup. Additional survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 6p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
