Nécrologie de Cheryl BrisBois Whitmore
Cheryl BrisBois Whitmore, 71 On July 17, 2021, the Lord took Cheryl to her Heavenly home. She was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late Windell Draper and Lois Neal. Cheryl was a loving, caring, beautiful and faithful woman. She lived her life each day to glorify the Lord and witnessing the power of the Lord. She was a member of Virginia Beach Beacon Baptist Church. Cheryl attended Churchland High School graduating in 1968; then continued her education at Longwood University graduating in 1972. She began her lifelong commitment to education at Churchland Elementary and continued her career with the Virginia Beach City Public Schools for 33 years. She taught K-4 grade; the kindergartners were her favorite. After retiring from the school system she taught homebound children passionately caring for each one, she was determined to help each child through the Lord in providing a foundation of learning. Cheryl enjoyed administering the GED exam as it gave her great happiness to see young people completing their high school education. Cheryl loved to exercise, her Jazzercise was special in many ways, she loved to ride her bike – most times 10 miles a day; “getting her steps in” was a daily regimen that brought much joy. Cheryl loved animals especially her fur babies and grand fur babies. Cheryl loved her family deeply striving to ensure each of us knew the Lord; overflowing with love and unwavering commitment. Cheryl leaves behind many families- her Church, Schools, Rockbridge, Lake Anna, Jazzercise, Tutoring, GED, Small Groups, Games and Fellowship that she so dearly treasured. To call her an incredible woman is an understatement; she will be missed by all who knew her. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, William T. Whitmore, Jr.; son, David Scott BrisBois (Jen); 4 step-children, Chad Michael Whitmore, Amy Michelle Phillips (Christian), Brooke Jenine James (Scott), and Reagan Marie Whitmore; 2 sisters, Terri Sanderlin (Ben), and Peggy Santa (Jack); 3 nieces Christy Mason (Brian), Courtney and Karen Roberts; 7 grandchildren John William, Lily Grace, Hailey, Eva, Maisyn, Madison, the love of her life, Brian Garrett Brisbois and two great nephews, Zachary and Trevor Mason.
