Arthur Harold Rahmer

Arthur H. Rahmer Virginia Beach, VA, a former 50 year Lake Katrine, NY resident passed away peacefully after a short illness.
Born Easter Sunday, April 12, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to George Rahmer and Clara (Dolecal) Rahmer. He graduated from Bayside High School and served as a Fire Control Technician on USS Hyman, DD-732. Following his enlistment he settled in Oceanside, NY and was a volunteer firefighter serving in Columbia Engine Company #1. He relocated to Lake Katrine in 1971 and was employed by Ronson Piano Hammer, Hucktrol and IBM. Throughout his life he was passionate about maritime affairs. In 2015 he became a Golden Life member of the U.S. Naval Institute signifying 50 years of membership. In 2021 he relocated to Virginia Beach.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Walter, Eugene and George. He is survived by his sister Karen (Spiotta), his wife of 59 years, Rosemary, his sons Richard Rahmer of Virginia Beach; Captain David Rahmer, USN Ret, wife Jessica, granddaughter Alexandra of Collinsville, IL.
Services will be private.
